Beautifully bred, by Son-in-Law out of the 1000 Guineas winner and Oaks runner-up Cinna, Beau Pere won 3 handicaps of no great importance at 4 and 5 years and went to stud in Newmarket on the strength of his pedigree, standing at the paltry sum of 9 guineas.
Twice Champion Sire in NZ, sent to Australia and then sold to the USA for $100,000, where he sired the winners of over $1M. In the USA he stood at Elbee Farms in Perris Valley, CA. In 1946, he stood for a fee of $2,500, the highest advertised fee of any stallion in America.
Purchased by Leslie Combs to stand at Spendthrift Farm, he died in 1947 before covering many mares.
