| Bred by Mr. Thompson and imported to New York by Willima Travers, who later sold the horse to Captain William Cottrill, who stood *Buckden in Kentucky. *Buckden died at the age of ten but not before establishing a good reputation as a sire of speed. (How could he have 1883 offspring if he died at 10, apparently 1879?) (Could not have died at 10yo, as another source, through Bloodlines.net, shows him siring 1882 filly - mated in 1881.)
