The Ely Turk is quite an obscure horse who is worthy of note for being the sire of Old Pert. Old Pert was the sire of Lady Mare who founded a direct female line. This family is known as Family No. 14 and it exists to the present day. Lady Mare's female descendants include I will Follow, dam of Rainbow Quest; and Slightly Dangerous, dam of Warning, Commander in Chief and Deploy. Other famous horses of this family include, Trumpator, Touchstone and Macaroni.
