Re: PLEASE POST ALL DATABASE ENTRY ISSUES IN THIS THREAD
There are 2 entries for Strike the Deal (2005). They should be merged, if possible.

Re: Famous Racehorses in the 20th Century
I was just wondering the age of the oldest mare to foal a Kentucky Derby winner or Triple Crown Winner , and the same question regarding the oldest sire. The previous question has got me wondering ........ Kentucky Derby Falsetto, age 27, sired Sir Huon (1903) Mr. Prospector, age 27, sired Fusaichi...

Galopin sireline incorrect according to genetic researchers.
In a paper written in April, 2019, researchers were able to distinguish the three sirelines of the Thoroughbred using the Y chromosome. Previously, we identified HG Tb as a signature of the Turkoman horse, an ancient horse population from the steppes of central Asia23. During the past 300 years HG T...

Re: American Studbook Questions
Bobadil's entry 'Mares under their Sires' section ASB5:861 gives his dam as Sarah Warren. Other than that, I haven't found clarification but suspect that N Warren & S Warren were same mare. Re. Don Juan - I'm guessing that you mean the entries ASB1:644 (produce of Cockerill's Old Ledbetter Mare...

American Studbook Questions
I've been working on a project involving the American Stud Books (1-3) and have come across some entries that I find confusing. If anyone has any info (i.e. are they fixed in later volumes, is there another source that makes it clearer, etc.) I'd appreciate it. Are Nancy Warren and Sarah Warren (bot...

Re: Black color
Unless Thabit has been tested for the Agouti gene, you may get a bay, even if the mare is black. Chestnuts can hide the Agouti gene, because it only acts on black pigment. According to the coat color calculator at http://www.animalgenetics.us/Equine/CCalculator1.asp the Offspring Color Probability i...

Please update record for Lure
I tried to update his record to correct the spelling of 'fertility' and to add that he died November 15, 2017 due to the infirmities of old age.
Could someone please update it since it's locked?
Thanks!

Re: Locked records that need to be updated.
Okay, here we go!
I originally had flagged Charget it Known (1991) but after looking at the dam's progeny record it's difficult to determine which foals are real and which are false.
So could you please check the progeny of Fleur de Noel (1975)?
Thanks!

Re: Locked records that need to be updated.
Thank you Pan Zareta! I tried to do as many as I could myself. There were some horses I found that might be 'fictitious' but I wasn't comfortable deleting them because I don't have access to as many resources (i.e. progeny records) as others do. All I know is that they either weren't in Equineline a...

Regarding Fairfax Harrison's books, Hathitrust.org has full text copies of the following (you can download pages, I believe, but can only download whole texts if you have an account with a partner institution): The John's Island stud (South Carolina) 1750-1788 pub 1831, https://hdl.handle.net/2027/c...

Locked records that need to be updated.
While I was trying to determine the first year at stud for various stallions I came across the following records which are locked but need to be corrected. I fixed the ones I could. La Peniche, Jean-Pierre x Lighter Bay Mare; March 10,1972; 0 Starts; Unraced Breeder: Walter M. Jeffords Jr. (KY) Lady...

Blazing Clearance - should be 1991, not 1990
Blazing Clearance (Cryptoclearance x Spring in Virginia) was born April 22, 1991.
Could someone please change as her record is locked.
Thanks!

Re: Buckpasser versus Mr. Prospector
Regarding the post where I quoted "Buckpasser is easily the most influential thoroughbred sire in today's pedigrees when attached to the female line." I did save that particular information before the website changed, and will attempt to summarize as best I can. According to the author, Ge...
