Re: Tiznow as sire of sires

I'm starting to think that the Man 'O War male line will be continued in....South Korea. :(

Re: Tepin

I was surprised that they chose Curlin for her. Curlin isn't known for getting turf runners, and I think his offspring prefer distances longer than the mile that Tepin excelled at. My thought would be, why not just send her to a world class turf miler, and reinforce her strongest aptitudes, and that...

Re: Belmont picks?

Altanbarr- yes, and I think he must be a brave horse to be able to run with one
eye missing. With no depth perception, etc., he impressed me that he did so well.

Re: Belmont picks?

I was glad to see Patch get third in the Belmont. He was no threat to the first two,
but it was nice to see the one-eyed wonder finish on the board. 8)

Re: Belmont picks?

I would be thrilled if Patch won- loved Union Rags when he was racing, and
it would be a great story if the one-eyed wonder was victorious.

Belmont picks?

I like Epicharis. It would be very fitting to see a male-line grandson of Sunday Silence get revenge for S.S.'s loss in the Belmont. I also think he has a great pedigree for the distance.

Re: first Grade 1 winner for Union Rags

His filly Union Strike, who won a G1 at 2, won her 3yo debut this weekend, in the Santa Paula.
I expect his offspring will only get better with age. Great fun to watch, since I followed Union Rags during his racing career.

Re: help me spend my monopoly "mare" money

I'm not actually a breeder, but I do like to play the "who would you breed her to" game. I think if I was a breeder, I would not shy away from "unproven" stallions. For example, I think breeding a suitable mare to Arrogate, once he is retired from racing, would be a good gamble, ...

Re: California Chrome Checks in at Taylor Made & Video's

Thanks for posting, TJ. Chrome is clearly a happy and confident horse- keeping his head up and just taking in his new surroundings. Wish him the best with his new career!

Thanks, Madelyn. I'm looking forward to see who they breed her to- will follow her babies as I followed her.

Re: Chrome priced at $40,000

I agree that C.C.'s pedigree doesn't inspire much confidence, especially at 40K, but I do l like the fact that he performed at a high level for so long. His durability is something I hope he passes on. I am sorry the thread took a negative turn, I tend to chalk it up to pre-holiday stress. I hope ev...
