Re: The 146th Running of the GR I Travers Stakes

After watching the race yesterday, I certainly hope Team AP decides to give the horse a rest. Second place is no shame, but to me it was apparent American Pharoah didn't have his usual spark. He did shake off Frosted and I don't think Frosted pressed him all that much with the fractions posted. AP j...

Re: American Pharoah wins triple crown :)

I cried before the race, a total wreck. But I had a feeling deep down in my gut that AP would win it. When he turned for home and was going so nice and easy, I yelled my full head off with tears running down my face. I was nine when I watched Affirmed be crowned and have waited patiently ever since ...

Re: Rosie goes out with a bang

I was fortunate to watch her ride in Maryland as an apprentice and work her way into the big league. I bragged on her to my friends, family, and co-workers. I wanted her to be the first woman to ride a Derby winner. Alas I won't get my wish. I know full well she will be an awesome mom...I also see h...

Re: My post breeders cup thoughts

Didn't watch the BC this weekend...the bloom is off the rose for me with the races being held at the same track for the last couple of rounds. I think that shows the state of horse racing in this country. The way tracks are closing it won't be long before there won't be any place to hold a BC. Hell,...

Re: Hey, BC! Is Anybody Listening?

I find it incredibly boring to have it held at the same venue for back to back years. I can't remember the last time I actually sat down and watched the BC. I love the sport, but the BC has lost its charm and attraction to me.

I've been watching racing less and less over the last few years. I think it all started with Big Brown back in 2008 and his hedge fund manager owners. All the crap to "get ahead" of the competition in all sports has left me pretty jaded. My opinion. That's all.

How boring. I remember how the BC was supposed to be hosted at a different track every year and now it seems like it found a permanent home.

Next up, shortening the Triple Crown races.

I agree bdw...I saw the fraction for the half and I was like "yep, slow go" which let Stevens and Oxbow pretty much steal the race from any closer. I believe Orb did get into a little traffic and with the slow pace perhaps got frustrated. He might need a quick pace to allow him to throw it into a hi...

Hoping for the best...and I hope they give her a break from breeding this season and let her recover fully.

I am dumbfounded.

For the good of the horse, yes, I commend that.

Ok, any wagers where he stands at stud and for how much?

Nice race...love his name. That was the name of the pony I rode as a kid when I first started taking riding lessons. :D

And what relation is Joseph O Brien to Aiden?

I pretty much ignored NBC's coverage when I flipped to see them talking to Eli Manning and his hosting of SNL tonight. Whatever. I watched most of the coverage on HRTV and only switched back to NBC when it came time for the race.
