My trainer and I are a team. We talk about what to do, decide where the horse has the best shot based on past races and current training condition and hope the horse fires. It's rare one of my horses isn't favored in the top three in their races. If they aren't, then they are not placed well more li...

I think Super Saver wins the Preakness and Ice Box upsets the Triple Crown again by winning the Belmont.

Well, from reading that article it's obvious to me that anyone involved with horse racing that isn't already stereotyped as a criminal surely will be after people watch this show.

My understanding is that a claiming race has no conditions other than age and sex... ex. Claiming $4000 for 3yo and upward. Beaten Claiming always has some sort of extra condition such as non winners since a certain date or non winners of three races lifetime... things like that. At least that is ho...

It's also funny when the track announcer just gets the name ENTIRELY wrong. Last year I had a horse running at Oaklawn Park. In the race with him was a horse named Bishop's Creek. The entire race the announcer called him King's Bishop. My horse won that race and I was so proud to have beaten a wonde...

Horses that I have claimed have nearly always improved drasticly by removing the shadow roll. I claimed a horse named Chesapeake Bay down at Oaklawn Park... they ran him in the biggest darn shadow roll you've ever seen and you could tell from the race replays that he hated it. He had run 16 times wi...

Hey Zinn21, I don't think medication rules are gonna matter too much at Prairie Meadows this year..... they were successful in scaring off a good many trainers this year with their promises to arrest any illegal help they might have. So successful in fact that today, the second day of entries (racin...

I pay $45/day and my record at Oaklawn this year was 8-3-1-1..... My trainer runs a small operation and likes to get his hands dirty. When you are paying $80 - $100 per day you are paying the trainers payroll, you aren't really paying for that trainer to train your horse unless it is a VERY highly r...

Well, you know how rumors are... but word on the backside at Oaklawn (from people who watched Old Fashioned in the shedrow) was that this horse was very, very sore coming out of the Rebel. I know as me and my trainer watched the AR Derby on Saturday he commented that he expected Old Fashioned would ...

I am pretty sure Louisiana has a similar rule and it seems to have worked pretty good down there. I think it is a good thing as it gives stallion owners incentive to purchase better stallions since they know they have a better shot of booking mares with a rule like this. Higher quality stallions get...

OK, this may sound "mean" to some.... but in this day and age how in the world would ANY breeder allow a mare to settle with twins? The result is almost never pleasant for any of the horses or people involved.
