Re: Looking for a stallion in KY

If you are looking to race in NY, I would consider Majestic City. He's reasonable (you can beat 5k) and he's off to a decent start. He satisfies the City Zip desire. Don't know the physical on your mare, but by Wheelaway, there's a good chance that she has size. MC would likely add speed. Drop it in...

Re: Santa Anita

First time on the big stage? Ummm....Mongolian Saturday? Consider this - is it possible that the idiots at Santa Anita slowed the track down and deepened it so much (they did) that those actions were responsible for tiriing MG so much that he broke down? Remember - he won on a different SA weeks ago.

Re: Black color

At what point do you think the roaning would take precedence and cause you to register the foal as gr/ro.? I have a filly, not yet weaned, that is Dk b/br. (close to black actually) in the head and shoulders, with significant neck roaning, and enough roaning to make her look gray in her flanks. I'm ...

Re: Need to find horses to sample before line is extinct

If you want to track down the status of Ronnet - you might contact Stone Bridge farm in upstate NY - Wilton I think. They should be able to put you in touch with Meg Miranda.

Re: The Pegasus World Cup

Looks like there could be a discrepancy in the final time of the race. The official time was 1:47.61, experts are leaning toward a time nearer to 1:46.87. Not quite Lea's track record of 1:46.86, but it is almost certain that the final time is inaccurate. Timeform US will further investigate and th...

Re: Displacing

Thanks. Yes - he's been tongue tied in all works, and in his race. We'd considered switching bits, but I acquiesced earlier in the week and we went ahead and did the procedure. Vet, after getting in there and seeing the thickness, said we did the right thing. We will see...after he resumes working. ...

Displacing

My 2yo colt ran 2nd over the weekend at CD and when all was said and done it turns out he displaced in the final 1/8...jock said he roared which the trainer confirmed as happening during several workouts over the summer/fall. I've had fillies that displaced before never a colt. Vet has recommended a...

Re: 3 year old horse of the year

No. But different circumstances. Zenyatta was undefeated going into that race. Chrome has lots of losses. albeit none this year. Blame was clobbered by Haynesfield immediately prior - although Haynesfield freaked on that day. Arrogate crushed his division one race prior in the most impressive Traver...

Re: 3 year old horse of the year

Not only is Arrogate 3yo of the year, but he is also Horse of the Year. It will be close, mainly because of the emotion around long running Chrome, but I believe most turf writers recognize the greatness of Arrogate. He is, quite simply, the best 3yo I have ever seen...and I saw Damascus...and all t...

Re: 3 year old horse of the year

Hi Shergar, In my opinion, if Arrogate didn't have issues that prevented him from running in the TC races...Baffert would have had back to back TC winners. All Arrogate has to do in the Classic is finish in front of the two other 3YO colts who made it to the Classic (Nyquist and Gun Runner) and he ...

Lousiville weather rant

Would you people please get your weather under control? Tired of getting rained off. Now it looks like more of the same for this coming Saturday. A good racing sec'y would compensate by writing more turf after a bunch of rainoffs....but no...
