Vale of Tears

Does anyone know anything about the stud career of Vale of Tears, who won a batch of stakes at Ak-Sar-Ben and Turf Paradise back in the '60s? I believe he also held the world record for 6 furlongs at one point.

Curious as to where he stood and what sort of runners he might have sired. Thanks.

Good news! The first two books in the series, ''The Sweet Running Filly'' and ''A Horse Called Bonnie,'' are now available on Amazon.

The name is Dutch, but Barbara is American.

I believe she grew up in New York state, worked extensively as a horsewoman at Aqueduct and in the Mid-Atlantic area (Maryland, West Virginia, etc.), and has lived in the Ocala, Florida area for more than 20 years.

the bonnie books

For anyone who remembers these horse racing novels from their childhood -- ``The Sweet Running Filly,'' ``A Horse Called Bonnie'' -- there's a new one available after more than 30 years.

mountaineer turf racing

Can anyone shed some light on the turf racing at Mountaineer? What kind of shape is the turf course usually in? Do they card a fair number of races? What is the average distance of the longer races? What level do they run at? Primarily $15,000 and up, or do they have a decent number of races for hor...

They've been approved for 54 days of live racing. The spring season begins in March, I believe.

cape canaveral in canada

Any indications on how Cape Canaveral is doing as a sire in Canada? He moved up there a handful of years ago.

Domestic Dispute offspring

Anybody in the Mid-Atlantic region have any experience with Domestic Dispute offspring? Any sense of why they don't run nearly as good as they look?

Prime Timber?

Does anyone know what happened to Prime Timber? I assume he was sold several years ago when Sez Who Thoroughbreds went under, but I can't seem to find where he ended up.
