Does anyone know anything about the stud career of Vale of Tears, who won a batch of stakes at Ak-Sar-Ben and Turf Paradise back in the '60s? I believe he also held the world record for 6 furlongs at one point.

Curious as to where he stood and what sort of runners he might have sired. Thanks.

The name is Dutch, but Barbara is American.

I believe she grew up in New York state, worked extensively as a horsewoman at Aqueduct and in the Mid-Atlantic area (Maryland, West Virginia, etc.), and has lived in the Ocala, Florida area for more than 20 years.

Can anyone shed some light on the turf racing at Mountaineer? What kind of shape is the turf course usually in? Do they card a fair number of races? What is the average distance of the longer races? What level do they run at? Primarily $15,000 and up, or do they have a decent number of races for hor...

They've been approved for 54 days of live racing. The spring season begins in March, I believe.
