Re: Tragedy
i'm borrowing this from the Friends of Ferdinand twitter feed. Although no amount of fundraising can replace Springcliff Farm’s devastating losses, a GoFundMe has now been started to help with the initial costs of starting to rebuild their historic farm. If you’re so inclined to help, you can do so ...

Re: Tragedy
24 horses perished. My lovely big Stonesider mare, Glory Style, in foal to Gormley, was lost.

Re: POP THE LATCH how to find her??
her last foal from 2018 was born in California by Twice the Appeal - that gives you a starting point. She doesn't show as being bred to a TB stallion since then.

mare without papers
I feel like this is a constant issue, but ... I have located a very nice mare but she went through a kill pen and current owner doesn't have her papers. I'm not sure how other states work, but in Indiana we have to have at least a copy of front and back of papers showing me as owner. Are other state...

Re: .. and Still No Love For Oxbow
I can't believe that Oxbow is still viable after this round of sales. His babies are essentially being given away. What will his 2020 stud fee be?

Re: Truly Divine
I remember this filly! She was involved in the horrendous 5 horse spill at Aqueduct. First two dams were good runners. Hmm.. foaled a colt in 2012 and returned to racing in 2013. I see the two foals, one of which was stakes-placed but not black type ... is that because of the state restrictions? I a...

Keeneland November - anyone else do this?
I make a list of horses in the last catalog that I *think* i could afford and then justify the potential purchase. There are some (actually, a lot) of Calumet grass mares being dropped into this sale with 2019 stud fees attached. That is so appealing. Some of my front runners are: 4241 French mare (...

Re: Conformation
Madelyn, I'm trying to pm you but i don't think messages are going through. In a broodmare one of those on the list might not be a deal killer but All of Them?? Actually, in conformation for a broodmare I look for the total aspect. At least 16h with a very full body, nice long hip, good long sloping...

Re: Ready Dancer
Female side doesn't scream stallion prospect, either. Dam is a minor stakes winner who produced a nice graded runner in Middie, who also happened to set a new track record. There's a stakes placed horse in France in the 3rd dam.

Re: February Fasig Tipton Kentucky!
The Stormy Atlantic mare was bred to Midnight Lute, so they thought enough of her to spend ~$15K on a breeding fee when they were planning. (yes, I know that they didn't have to pay a Stands and Nurses fee) Hmmm... I wish I had been there. Actually, it's probably just as well. The lucky dice roll ha...

Re: February Fasig Tipton Kentucky!
I was only able to view bits and pieces by watching online, but I was absolutely drooling over 515, the Hard Spun horse Anazimandros. I thought he would sell much higher. and then the puzzlement over 421, a Purim daughter in foal to Get Stormy, for only $1000 469, lots of European black type, but by...
