Okay ; allow me to ask the dopey question. Both my mares are in Kentucky at the moment but at some point need to return to New Jersey. That's a long trip so assuming both are still in foal at 30 days when would you folks feel comfortable putting them on a truck for the ride home ? Sixty days is a l...

In the case of 212 and 275, the difference between what was paid for them as yearlings and what was paid (or asked) yesterday was so great that I suspect you're not going to find many clues in what you see in their works. They most likely had vetting issues.

LSB, is that the premium based on the stud fee? Ie: for a $7500 stud fee, pro-foal insurance would be $1,050? You can insure the foal for whatever amount you want (or can convince your broker that the foal is worth. ) We once bought a mare carrying a 75K stud fee and insured the foal for 50K...

According to the broker I use, prospective foal insurance can only be purchased if the mare is still quite far from foaling (either 60 or 90 days, I think) so it doesn't sound as though miwinter's first two mares could have gotten coverage. The premium is 14%.

Mineshaft might be a top sire for Lane's End, but AP Indy still has yet to sire a consistent sire, or one that's not judged as "breed to race." Aptitude and Stephen Got Even were never "commerical" sires, and Golden Missile has been a terrible disappointment considering the support he originally go...

I've never sold at F-T but at Keeneland if you go to the office, you can get update sheets to fill out. They are then turned in (at Keeneland) right next to where you go to set your reserve. I would imagine the system would be somewhat similar at F-T so you might want to go to the office and ask whe...

I've had help with the mating selections as to pedigree, but having a lot a trouble picking stallions. Could anyone give me some feedback on the following stallions as to...

Figure out which track he's currently training at and call the racing office. They will give you his phone number.

I'm glad to hear your new book is done and I hope we won't have to wait too long until it appears. Your Northern Dancer book was really excellent. I'm looking forward to another good read. :)
