I can't take credit for the photo (I only *wish* mine would come out that sharp!), I was browsing aother person's thread and the name caught my eye. The gentleman who took it does seem to spend a fair amount of time at the Midatlantic tracks, so perhaps he was there for you filly's "Kodak moment". ;)

DDT I would take the foaling date at Equibase with a grain of salt. They list Jan 1 as a default when they do not have an actual date on record, and it appears their records on foaling dates only go back so far (to the 1950s for US runners; much later for Europe).

Likely a transcription error on the JC's part - she's French bred, and the French studbook has her registered as bay.

Here's a better close up:

Unless mares in Thailand are given to producing triplets, I would take anything in the sire's progeny list with a very large grain of salt. As for Jeedjard, she is either a 2004 mare or a 2006 colt according to the database. The former is less likely as it does not appear his/her sire was at stud in...

In addition to the points posted above, many of the sound horses listed as 'available' on Canter are not actually retired. In some cases the trainer is aware that the horse's career is in fact winding down, and want to start looking ahead to the next stage, but if the horse still can run it probably...

New York, or at least they could several years ago. I remember that there was a list of nerved horses posted in the Belmont racing office.

Here she is: http://www.pedigreequery.com/the+mosquito2 I found her under her dam in GSB v.VIII, however, neither that volume nor the next two indicated her year of export. Family Tables of Racehorses does not list her at all under Martha Lynn, who was herself the taproot mare of family 2-h. I don't...

The Zenyatta mold was originally Afleet Alex. I can't remember who Sato's was used for, I think it was Barbaro. Forgot about the Secretariat one there. Sato is on the Cigar mold, which was also used for Barbaro. Zenyatta's mold was originally Lonesome Glory. It was also used for Seattle Slew & ...

Naragansett Park (affectionately known as 'Gansett) was in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, very close to the Mass. border. It closed in the late 70's.

I saw Belong To Me as a young stallion in NY ('94 - his first season, I think?), and even before his middle-age middle he was built like a fireplug. Short & stout....not quite as much chest & crest as he's hauling around nowadays, naturally. I don't think I took any pics of him, which is unf...

Georgez, you might want to clean your browser cache - your computer will sometimes 'see' older versions of a page when it needs cleaning. That can cause double-posts, too. As for the progeny, it will take a day or two for that to straighten out. The 1964 foal has been changed to the correct Sibola (...
