The Jockey Club will release the 2013 numbers in the next month or two.

You can always call the farm where he's standing and ask them, too.

thank you. I cant believe it was 20 years ago, but there you have it. What a pity American breeders would not have patronized him. Even now there is a strong bias against most European sire lines, especially German ones, because until recently haven't been seen much in America. Hopefully that will c...

Military Plume WAS a superbly-bred horse, and I remember thinking the same thing! *Princequillo was still at the top of his game, and Bold Ruler hadn't quite found the spotlight yet. A horse which raced in the same timeframe, and who I thought had a great pedigree was GUADALCANAL: http://www.pedigre...

The 1962 Travers Stakes, according to most old-timers, is the greatest edition of the race. http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AmjcDugSIdqzjlXNfpRTmr6bvZx4?fr=yfp-t-141-s&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&p=1962%20travers%20youtube Note that in the beaten field is the great multiple-champio...

I just read the entire story on your link. Tragic death, much like Ruffian's.

Out of curiosity, do you recall the name of the German-bred racehorse that was sent to Monty Roberts because of peculiar temperament problems, who later won a Grade One in California?

Truly. His get performed well in the U.S., too. But, like most German-breds (at least until Animal Kingdom) they haven't been fashionable enough at auction to stimulate much interest from breeders/buyers. Years ago I bought a filly out of ISTRIA, champion German filly, for not much money, and she la...

I was speaking with the Castleton manager today about an unrelated subject and asked him the horse's whereabouts. He said the horse was "sold to a lady in California" last year. He gave me her name but I didn't recognize it.

No need for controversy. It's just that in reading catalog pages I think it's important to do so while comparing apples with apples, i.e. quality. The WHBA catalog is certainly of higher quality than I've ever seen it, but the constant overlaying of fake black type onto otherwise mostly solid pages ...
