Re: New Stallion showcase 2018

I just booked Keen Ice. I saw some really poor cellphone photos of him and thought he looked incredible even in bad pics so I sent my farm manager from my boarding farm in KY to take a look. He has not been too "keen" on Keen Ice, but when he saw him he was blown away. Said he has an outst...

Re: Real Quiet soundness

He was known to throw crooked legs. When he stood here in PA several of his offspring had to wear braces to straighten them out. That being said, Midnight Lute is very straight as is his son Shakin It Up, and I had a foal by Shakin it Up who was completely perfect. I would not be turned off by seein...

Re: Need to find horses to sample before line is extinct

Given the age of most of these horses, I would post on Facebook's ottb connect. The people on there have a lot of older horses. Also, Say Florida Sandy is pretty popular with sport people and I feel like I might have even seen someone post about Son of Sand on there.

Re: Money won or dosage index

For the commercial market my list goes like below. However, the mating must fulfill all of these, so it's not really in order of importance, to me these are nonnegotiables, but more the order that I use to start narrowing my choices. I'm not going to take the time to revisit a horse that I can elimi...

Re: rapid weight loss in horse

Simple things would be teeth, like an abscess or something very painful. If you haven't noticed a Decrease in appetite, neurological issues such as epm can cause rapid weight loss.

Competitive Edge

Does anyone have conformation notes on Competitive Edge? I'm sure I looked at him but apparently I didn't put any notes in my book on him.

Re: Searching for Celestial Lady (2008)

Contact Mid Atlantic Horse Rescue and let them know you are looking for her, they often have ppl at the auctions. Also on FB, Mindy Lovell has a huge network and often knows where horses are that no one else knows about. Ask her to keep an eye out for you. Both her and MAHR are excellent at networki...

Looks like Cool Coal Man will be given a descent opportunity over in Europe. He was very attractive. Hope his new home works out for him.

Re: F-T KY Mixed

I'm going! Buying and selling. I wouldn't gage interest in mares based off the ftma sale. I completely agree with Carrie Brogen's assessment that most of them never should've crossed the threshold of the breeding shed. There were not enough good ones to attract money or interest to that sale.

Frosted is the love of my life:). Love his physical!

Like Nyquist, Runhappy, and Outwork a lot. Cinco Charlie also has a very nice physical for a pretty weak race record.

Flintshire, Air Force Blue, and Mshawish are just okay.

Deeply disappointed by Brody's Cause and Exaggerator.

Re: Chrome priced at $40,000

Based on earnings and performance yes, but he's going to be a tough commercial sell because of his sire. He appears to be a lone super freak for his dad. As a commercial breeder I think he's a bit too risky to invest in because buyers are not going to be very forgiving.

Re: Sept. Yrlg Sale @Keeneland

I was cheering for him to go to $150, after that I was like, c'mon I don't need the universe to give me a total atomic wedgie! I was forced to sell him last year when he was immature because I had 2 foals that were critically ill and ran up large vet bills. Both survived so that's pretty rewarding (...

Hi Madelyn, No it does not interfere with that. The old system that removed them from the registry completely was a total disaster and depending on the show management sometimes it did interfere with their ability to participate. I personally know of 2, well bred, stakes mares that were euthanized b...
