As far as I am aware, none of the people who actually program the database features read this message board. This forum is intended for issues involving regular database use and data entry; for assistance with technical or programming features you would need to contact the webmaster using the 'Conta...

How can I insert the abbreviation for the SRB-Serbian pedigrequery.com under Country of Birth, as Yugoslavia no longer exists I'm afraid that's not something that regular users, or even the research staff, can do. You'll need to send an e-mail to the webmaster using the 'Contact Us' link on the web...

GS was indeed Garden State, per the 1966 American Racing Manual. GP was Gulfstream then as now.

I don't know of a site that covers every single European country, but http://www.racingpost.com comes the closest, in my experience.

BRISnet pedigree reports show results from England, Ireland, France, and a handful of other countries, with earnings converted to $US.

Readbetweendlines

Saw this fellow on TVG earlier - he's US-bred, but is a stakes horse in Trinidad. *Huge* white marking on his hind end. A photo can be seen here: http://www.newsday.co.tt/sport/0,147881.html ....and here is his pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/readbetweendlines

I doubt they'd be confused with another horse, no. But it's still not accurate, and in some cases a missing apostrophe or period can change the pronounciation - or even meaning - of the name. A.P. Indy was Ap Indy in the database for quite a while. ;) Of course, that doesn't make it OK to leave thos...

If you pass those along to me I can fix them when I get a chance. Please use PM or the research request forum, as I do not always have time to check the whole board. I always try to lock up the entries for fatalities before their comment fields turn into shrines, or worse, end up full of libellous s...

There is a very popular Broadway play based on same the book. Instead of live horses they use life-size marionettes - I have only seen short clips, but have been told the staging of it is quite remarkable. It cleaned up at this years' Tonys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY5YMshpCcw

To elaborate on PZ's answer, when you get the screen telling you that there is already a horse (or horses) by that name, there should be a button at the bottom that says "I don't see the horse I'm adding". Click that, and you *should* be able to proceed.

You can't - you'll need to delete the incorrect entry and do it over again.

Be sure you delete any additional info (color, breeder, notes, etc) from the "bad" entry before zapping it, as deleting the horse does not remove that info from the database. :)

Generosity did not show as an option because he was entered in to the database as a gelding. That has been fixed.

Stardom Bound & Dancinginherdreams come to mind. Tapit himself grayed out very early, if I remember correctly.

I'm 'up' about $130, all on paper of course, and all on the grays. Anyone who put $2 across the board on every gray horse that ran in the BC went home with a tidy profit. Turralure was my sleeper pick for the day and I thought for sure some wiseguys would pounce on him. They didn't, and unfortunate...
