Bens Cat wins 4th MD bred HOY
Truly an amazing gelding. I hope he comes out in 2015 as tough as ever. No reason to think he won't considering how he finished up last year. Considering I own his sister, I hope his nieces and nephews have a touch of his talent.

Re: Bens Cat wins 4th MD bred HOY
Ben's Cat absolutely deserved Maryland HOY!
The 2YO Championships are a mess - the Champion 2yo colt wins 1 race (Maryland Juvenile Futurity) while Golden Years wins 3 of 4 including the Maryland Millions Nursery Stakes and the Marylander Stakes. The colts never ran against each other, so apparently the Maryland Juvenile Futurity was the only race that mattered.
It gets worse, the 2YO Champion filly Miss Bullistic was beaten by Spotted Heart in the Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship Stakes (the filly version of the Md Juvenile Futurity) and also finished behind Spotted Heart in their only other meeting, the Maryland Million Lassie Stakes. By every objective measure, Spotted Heart was the better 2 YO filly.

A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.
