Sam, I will not get into loquacious fisticuffs with you but your response was predictable. Obviously you thought I was directing my comments to you. I don't recall mentioning your name. But, since you jumped in with your opinions, Sam, you just don't get what I was talking about. Oh how the blind can not see!!!!

The implication being that if you aren't delusional you have no passion for the sport or the horses. Moronic, simpleton pigeon-holing. Whatever. Like I said, there's a difference between dream and delusion. I dream, I'm just not delusional.

As for the original question -- If he does it in a cake walk, then no, I don't want him to win. I'm not impressed by large margins of victory against outclassed fields. I want to see a real horse race, not Ghostzapper running in a 25k Claimer. The last two races have been boring as hell, I'm hoping for better in the Belmont. I'd rather him beaten by Casino Drive or Denis of Cork than walk away from them all. Not wanting the horse to win does NOT equal hatred so get the hell over it.

And that implication that if a person finds fault with the horse that obviously means they hate them... hate is an extremely strong word by people lacking the ability to understand anything beyond simple emotions. I don't hate the horse. It's a horse. So please keep those idiot comments to yourself (and that goes to EVERYONE, not just the one poster who made the comment here).

okay sam you can pick on me all day long becuase i'm use to it, but she is new

“A dream with courage is innovation...A dream without courage is a delusion”

Bill Gates was extremely dilusional thinking he could start a company that ran Graphical User Interfaces on top of Computers and that (grasp) everyone at home would want to use a computer! Its common sense now, it would get you laughed out of a board room 30 years ago.

The Great Runner Wilma Rudolph or as they call her on the other side of the pond" La Perle Noire" was so crazy they should have locked her in a physc ward. not only was she african american, she was a woman and she was born with polio!! she lived her life in splints and she had aspirations to be a freaking Olympic medal champion! and she not only did it, she might very well be the best female athlee of the 20th century in america. But be it people like you she would have been raised and died in a physh word

I am pretty darn thick skinned. I have to be. but if there is one thing that will make me come out of my skin is having someone placing limitations on someone else, telling them what they CAN'T do. just becuase you dont' have the balls to dream big and have the courage and self disipline to follow your dreams out, doesn't mean other people don't.

Sam, don't place your self limitations on someone else. If you don't think YOU can do something, that's fine. you know yourself better than anyone. but don't ever tell someone what THEY can't or can do.

I'm not picking on her or you, so don't make dumbass posts, BD. If people don't want someone to challenge their opinions or call them on their statements, don't make them. Being "new" doesn't exempt you from being challenged or having someone tell you when something you (collective 'you' since apparently no one can tell the difference between a collective and a specific) said is just flat out stupid.

And no, BD, you aren't "thick skinned"... you've demonstrated that more than once with your extreme overreactions to posts that aren't even directed at you and your constant need to validate yourself through this board.

This isn't about self-limitations. At no point did I say *I* couldn't do something. What I said is that there is a difference between dream and delusion and there are a hell of a lot of delusional people when it comes to this sport. So please be so kind as to keep your idiotic attempts at pop psychology to yourself, BD. Go back to watching Dr. Phil.

no popcorn needed to be passed. I'm done. You can't aruge with someone as hateful, vengeful and in general just as down right evil as Sam. She gets off on trying to put people down. that to me is the bottom of human society's todem poll. Sam can pick on me all day long. Since rouge won't do jack about her harassing new people I will.

Sam, saying what's on my mind and being thick skinned are two different things.

the reason I AM thick skinned is because I get what is on my chest off of it. I don't take you into my personal life.

BDW: You crossed the line with your above post. There is a HUGE difference between attacking a point of view and attacking a specific person.

There is no need to treat everyone here as your best friend. I don't care if you voice your displeasure about someone or what they post, and I don't require ultimate respect between posters. However, there is a level of rudeness and disrespect that simply does not need to be reached, and with the above, you reached it.

no rouge YOU LISTEN

you sit here and you let stuff go on , you let it build up, you let new people who have not done a damn thing wrong get flammed by your buddy and sit back and you dont' do shit about about it.

if you want to get on me for sticking up for one of your fellow posters who came here to talk about horse racing than go ahead. But I have a higher morale than that. You should to.

you could have budded in when Sam went off on the new person but no.

you could have budded in when I first said something to sam.. but no

Sam has been on a week long rampage against me and anyone else who says anything that she doesn't like but no. it's screw anyone besides sam.

So that's where I am.. and we are going to address this right here, right now becuase i'm sick of it.

oh and I know you didn't have the nerve to quote that LOL

that is kiddy flaming compared to what sam usually does to me. I've been called a snot nosed kid with a foot fetish, a loser, an asshole, worthless, an internet troll, a pop's psychiatrist, etc... all within the last month, and that's all off the top of my head. If I went back over all over the unmoderrated (by you of course) crap that has been thrown at me by your buddy this would take up another page. Seriously.

did I say something that would have better been said in a PM? sure... oh and you don't want me to read the PM's Sam sends me.. they are rated X.

oh boy....

You REALLY need to learn when to challenge a moderator. Here's a hint. The answer is "Never."

bdw0617 wrote:you could have budded in when Sam went off on the new person but no.

At NO POINT did I attack warhorse. I attacked (if you want to call it that) her statement. MOST PEOPLE can tell the difference between "That is the stupidest thing I've read in the last 20 minutes" and "You are so effin' DENSE you are a walking event horizon and no one's IQ is safe when you draw near."

Apparently, you cannot, BD.

I'll make it easier for you:

THIS is a challenge to a person's statement:

THIS is a personal attack on an individual:

bdw0617 wrote:hateful, vengeful and in general just as down right evil as Sam. She gets off on trying to put people down. that to me is the bottom of human society's todem poll....

If you are so married to your opinion that you can't handle it when someone disagrees with it and consider any such disagreement an "attack" on you personally... DON'T MAKE THEM.

bdw0617 wrote:I've been called a snot nosed kid with a foot fetish

Considering you started that thread by acknowledging you have a foot fetish, that's hardly an insult.

bdw0617 wrote:a loser, an asshole, worthless, an internet troll, a pop's psychiatrist,

Please show me where I called you a loser or worthless. Asshole? Probably. Internet Troll, definitely (but probably not recently)

bdw0617 wrote:oh and you don't want me to read the PM's Sam sends me.. they are rated X.

X rated? Hardly. You don't interest me enough to be sexually explicit with you. Strong R maybe because I've never said anything to you in PMs I've not written to the board. You'll do much better if you learn to stop exaggerating, BD. Something you've been told MANY times before by more than just me.

Get a clue, kid. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS PROBLEMS WITH YOU. Not by a longshot. I'm not even the only one to have expressed those problems. I'm just the only one you ever respond to.

And thank you for hijacking yet another thread with your childish temper tantrums.

This forum has been around LONG before you joined it and there have been a good many knock-down drag-out fights. As long as posters recognize that "oops, I got too emotional and crossed the line there" or "oops, I probably shouldn't have posted that" and as long as they.....

read this part REALLY CAREFULLY...

RESPECT AND HEED WARNINGS...

I have ALWAYS recognized that they are HUMAN and have not held the occasional inappropriate post against them. However, those who have been banned from this forum, without exception, have one thing in common:
THEY REFUSE TO ABIDE BY THE RULES AND REPEATEDLY REFUSE TO BACK DOWN WHEN THINGS REACH A LEVEL WHERE I HAVE TO STEP IN.

You've only been here about a year and that makes you relatively new, but I know damn good and well that you are fully aware that this is a lightly moderated forum. HOWEVER, when it becomes necessary to stand down and take a deep breath, I expect to see that occur, and that goes for everyone, across the board, no matter who you are.

Since I believe your other comments and accusations to be completely without factual base or merit, and in general don't even see how you can draw the conclusions you have drawn, I will not waste either of our time by addressing them.

I will remind you, however, that you are NOT a moderator or administrator of this forum, and therefore it is not your duty or your responsibility to try to act like one.

Please calm down a bit before posting the response that I KNOW you will feel the need to post, since your current tone is likely to get you into very hot water if you don't get it under control.

no I will not "calm down". you aren't my mom and I'm not afraid of you. (yes I am afraid of mommy)

I'm not one to bite my tounge, the only way you build character is to stand up for what you believe, not to bite your tongne when you feel wronged. Damnit I and every other member of this forum deserve better than that.

This forum has been around LONG before you joined it and there have been a good many knock-down drag-out fights.

the only reason there are knock down drag out fights is because sam goes around picking on people! what do you not understand about that?

name the last time I have just went around picking on people starting crap? I don't!!

the way things go

IK've made a living of backing down whenever sam goes into rant spew mode or whenever Georgez goes off for asking a question (like yesterday), i'm just going to do it anymore becuase i should not have to worry about "damn if I post this am I going to get a random unproved attack towards me?"

I will remind you, however, that you are NOT a moderator or administrator of this forum, and therefore it is not your duty or your responsibility to try to act like one.

jump off the soap box and realize just how silly you are being. All I'm doing is pointing out soemthing that needs to and has been needing to be addressed for a hell of along time. you are acting like the thought police, "go away because I said so". NO. you are going to have to address what I am saying or kick me off.

I don't (unlike sam) want sam to leave. I actually enjoy reading 90% of her post. I don't want ANYONE kicked off (unlike other people). But I DO want you to start being fair in taking sides.

You are like the school principle who jumps into a fight and breaks it up and suspends the guy who has been getting pummeled because he decided to finally hit back.

BTW, i'm not a mod here but I am a mod at 2 other sites, both about 10x bigger than this one. I know a good mod is when i see one becuase I AM one. three things make a great mod. 1. knows the rules to the forum 2. one that has a great knowledge about the content of the forum and 3. one that is fair and impartial in judgement.

While you are supurb in the first two, you are lacking in the latter.

let's keep this in perspective.. this whole thing started when sam made a very nasty commet to a new member for no reason other than to be spiteful.

you tell me to stop playing mod.. well... you sure as hell weren't going to do anything about it. someone had to

Wish granted. See you in two weeks.

I know that I will NEVER please everyone when I make a forum decision; it is simply impossible to do so. However, when someone repeatedly shows complete disregard for the rules and for the person trying to keep peace on the board when they are trying to enforce said rules, I am left with only two choices:

1.) Allow them to continue a dialogue of open disregard for the rules and for warnings issued, and in doing so remove all ability to utilize warnings in future similar situations

2.) Put a stop to it

I feel I have to choose #2 because there are SO many differing opinions and personalities on this forum and it is and will continue to be lightly moderated. Therefore, the only hope I have of preventing complete meltdowns such as the one that caused this forum to be shut down many years ago is to retain my ability to diffuse people/issues when necessary. Those who refuse to diffuse on their own will be diffused by me, and if I don't do so, I lose all ability to diffuse future situations. So, regardless of my own preference regarding how this would have turned out, I feel that I am honestly left with no choice.

There are LOADS of other internet forums, almost ALL of which are more heavily moderated than this one. Some people prefer that type of forum because it does better at preventing people from being confronted or getting their feelings hurt. This has been addressed here many times, and it is well known that this is NOT such a forum.

Here's the way I roll: If something's getting out of hand or I think that, if it continues on, it might cause responses that will get out of hand, I ask the person or people involved to stand down or at least take a step back for a minute. Those who have shown that they will refuse to do so with private requests will be asked in public. Those who still refuse leave me no choice but to deal with them. Many of you were not around when the board was disabled due to people refusing to back down when asked, and didn't have to wait around for months before this new board was created and activated. Those of us who lived it, though, have no desire to ever see it again, and that is the driving force behind my actions.

Now, I would respectfully request that the hijacking end here and that this thread be allowed to return to it's original topic of discussion.

A last digression: Roguelet, you do a very fine work of moderating this forum. Most of us, if not all, are 100% behind you. You have the support of the vast majority. your decisions are always respected, and in my personal opinion, they are very fair and even handed. My personal thanks for keeping this forum in the high level it deserves.
