I am posting on here for a cause that should have been done years ago.
As most of you know, Ruffian was the original Queen of the Fillies. Her beauty matched her speed and stamina. Have not seen another like her, male or female since she graced the track.
She won 13 races in what amounts to part of a 2 year old year and part of a 3 year old year, until that fateful match race that took her life way too soon. Can you only imagine if she had lived and gone on for a four year old career, how many races she would have won in a row? She would have still had the consecutive race win record to this day, I'm sure.
Anyway, there are two Facebook pages that are entirely for those in the horse racing high up offices to finally give her a life sized statue. Secretariat has a statue at Belmont, and Zenyatta already has one out in California. This is not right. A full sized statue of the original Queen of the Fillies, Ruffian, would be perfect for the middle of the paddock area of Belmont Park, the place she did most of her record breaking runs.

There is a place on the first fb page where you can sign your name to the list, and eventually when we all get enough, we will figure out the best place to send a formal letter with all the signatures stapled to it.
Ruffian was a horse, a TB, we will never see the likes of again. Never has it been said that another horse could have beaten Secretariat, but indeed Lucien Lauren made that famous statement that she could of done that, and he trained Secretariat. Any come from behind horses would not have ever been able to catch her as she got the lead and had fun lengthening her lead.
When they made Ruffian, the broke the mold, but let's make one more mold of her to give her the statue she so deserves, then they can break it!
