Does anybody know the longest distance that Gold Digger won at. Gold Digger was Mr. Prospector's dam who was a champion sprinter.

Hi Stan,
The longest distance she won was going a mile and an eight. She won Pimlico's Gallorette Stakes twice at that distance as a 3 and 4 YO. She also won Latonia's Marigold at the same distance. She was 2nd in the Kentucky Oaks which in 1965 was run at 1 1/16th miles. TJ

BTW, Mr. Prospector was never champion sprinter although he certainly had plenty of ability. While he was highweighted on the Daily Racing Form's Free Handicap for American sprinters of 1974, the Eclipse Award went to Forego, who beat him fair and square in the Carter Handicap and topped the Free Handicap for older males. (At that time, DRF's policy was to rank a horse on the section of the Free Handicap in which it received the highest rating, so Forego wasn't issued a rating based solely on his prowess as a sprinter.)
