1:09 for 6 furlongs for Sandy Downs as timer must have been

1:09 seems a little fast on a muddy, cuppy track at Sandy Downs for a $1750 Allowance race.

... yeah, just like 1:08 2/5 seemed a little fast for a $3200 claimer there, especially for a horse whose top speed figure in recent years had been '57'.

At least this mighty horse had been a habitual '62' speed figure type.

and last year's 1:09 was 'a little fast' for a $3500 claimer who is 3-for-4 since then and whose recent 67 speed figure was his best in seven years.

A spirited early battle occurred, and IF the actual splits were slow-ish, the survivor may well have had plenty of energy left to blaze a trail when running alone toward the end. (or, if the early splits were fast, then the winner and all others may have been staggering home with lots of 'room' to still land on a solid time).

What, exactly, are you trying to say?
