Miss Scat Cat - Fair Grounds (Info Needed)

Postby JaradM » Mon Feb 19, 2007 3:50 pm

I was wondering if anyone here has heard of the 3 year old filly "Miss Scat Cat" at the Fair Grounds. She is being trained by Bret Calhoun, I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about this filly or may know Bret to give me an update on how she is doing. To this date she has not had a official work that I know of. The only info I had on her was that she had minor surgery to remove some chips in her knees. She is out of my Mining mare Boomtown Beauty. Just curious to see if she will make it to the track becasue her only other filly by Holy Bull didnt do much.

You should be able to call the Fairgrounds Stable Gate and ask to speak with the trainer. They'll usually either page them directly or give you the telephone number. Good luck!

I thought about that but dont want to bother a trainer with my curiosity. I might try to get in touch with the owners (Hooties Racing LLC) to see if they can give me some info on her.

just call after 10am and before post of the first race. Thats when most trainers take a break, after morning works, and before post.

I was able to get into contact with the connections, she was reinjured coming back from minor knee surgery to remove chips. The trainer does not think she will make it to the track. This is not good as my mare is 0-2 with fillies, her only other filly by holy bull was 4-0-0-1 $4500 and is now a broodmare.

Sorry to hear it, Jarad. If she's not meant to be a racehorse, hopefully her owners will make a nice home for her outside the track. Sometimes it's a bit of a relief when you realize you can quit spending excess training and vet bills, and just move on.

The filly has been working at LA Downs, she had the best time of 27 today going 5F handily in 101.20 on a sloppy track. Great news.
