She will be entered tomorrow.
The race is nothing else than a big guess for us, her condition is very well her coats shines, and she improved from her last race.
6,5furlong track turf open condition race for 4 yrs and up

Ending sixth within five lenghts. She broke badly last from eleven.
Gooiing through the bench dead last. After a furlong in the homestrech the jock decided to ask her. And she started rallying through the mid field.
Finishing very fast.
We used the blinkers again, get her something sharper but no result at all
just she finished in the field which might be important in her races to come.
So next time she will be back at the nine- ten furlongs distances.
After the finish she dropped her jock, but thank god no injuries

She,s in today, 9,5 furlong terrible worse handicap race.
2 benches. It has been raining cats and dogs the last days so she should be liking the surface. There will be more than enough cut in the ground.
Nowadays we are racing instead of training, and maybe I will buy her a training companion, as training on her own is giving more and more troubles and sometimes dangerous for the workrider and herself.
Or we quit at the end off the year.

She was travelling very well, for seven furlongs and than it was all over within 50 yards :?:
Like a stone thrown in water.
Extremely disappointing

We did a complete check, she did have rather thick (musceous, mucces), I do not know the english word for it, at her lungs. One of the part owned horses by geowarrior was having the same like a couple of horses from other members
And the left front knee (inside)gave some troubles, the fluid around the bones, gave trouble ( just a little bit) and she was not really sore on it.
So she get a rest and than I will think of retirement or give it another shot
at right handed tracks in Germany.
Our hometrack is left handed, and the benches are tight, that,s always giving pressure on the left inside from the leg. Training is always left handed, so I have to think twice about the situation.

Mellanie is in tomorrow, at Cologne, Koln (ger). 9 furlongs ausgl 111 handicap. Right handed large turf track finish uphill
Circumference is about 11 furlong so just only large bench to go
We brought her back to her old trainer, as she refused to train alone

After her worse results in the Netherlands last time out , the german handicapper left 10 pounds of her mark
According our trainer she works well and there should be no worries.

Wish her luck

B.t.w we will meet Parlo again after almost a full year.

Today we saw a Dutch Championship at Cologne with 4 wins of horses in Dutch colours:

2 horses of Mijnheer van der Meulen won minor races and Lucky Strike won a G3 (his 19th win in some 35 races), to confirm his position as leading sprinter in GER. Dutch rider A. de Vries won 4 races (one for Arabic tbs), and then Trainer Jan Pubben won another race.

Mellanie didn't run bad - but this will Ben tell you. I was happy to meet Ben and his family again.

Mellanie broke well, gooiing second horse on the outside, went through the race quite well up till the last 150 yards, she was beaten by speedhorses.
The race was lacking good pace so that was the only reason, Mellanie was placed better than that we expected.
So everybody were using the brakes, helding up.
She came very well out the race eating well and no soreness.
Next time some shorter problaby around the mile.
Because of more early speed by other horses
I,d liked meeting Parlo. Although one lackes enough time as useal.

Ben, how fun! One of my vacation dreams is to visit great racecourses in your "neck of the woods." And it's always more fun when someone you know has a horse running.
Here's hoping Mellanie has a great trip in the right spot next time.
We might be in Saturday at Laurel (MD) with Spider. I'll let you know.
