Benz The Rules

Postby Shergar » Fri Jan 15, 2010 7:51 pm

My boy Benz the Rules, (Tavasco o/o Misty Murrcedes) is making his comeback Monday at GGF. Got him entered in 5th race. A 12.5k Mdn Claimer.

He has been working really well and I believe he should do well in his comebacker. He did have two races as a 2 yo, but then his epiglottal (sp) flap was sticking on him. He had surgury for that and then we put him away for the rest of the year.

As a 3yo we had him prepped and ready to rock and roll up here in Idaho. Then Les Bois Park went tits up and we were in limbo with him. Finally we sent him down to Nor. Cal in late summer. On the trailer ride down he spiked a fever. That set him back several weeks.

FINALLY he is ready to go. I'm going to be as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs for the next few days. He is my baby that I named. A play off of his dam's name.

Regards,
Shergar

PS: Benz is family 9c* 7th dam is the immortal Mumtaz Mahal. Heres hoping that over the generations some of the genes of that racing royalty has filtered down into him.

Congrats on getting him as far as you have shergar! I know exactly how you feel "nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs"! Our (just turned 3 y.o.) has had 3 starts with 2 wins. He is entered into his first "stakes" race on Monday. Mind you this is at Portland Meadows, not a fancy track, but nevertheless, he is our baby and all we hope is that he comes back sound! Best of luck to you and your boy!!!

Thanks for the good wishes.

If you feel comfortable posting, tell us who you have going at PM on Monday. I'm assuming you have a starter in the OTBSA? stakes that is going on Monday at PM.

No need to be apologetic about having a starter at PM. I'm just an Idaho Tater that grew up on racing at Les Bois park.

Whoever your boy is, I'm sending good thoughts for him on Monday.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh, Benz is a Maiden not more!!

I was such a wreck all day. I hate to say it, but I was shaking the entire race.

Just a 12.5k Maiden, but a big deal to me. Won by a solid 2 lengths. I was surprised he went off at 2-1. He was 6-1 on the morning line. I didn't bet that much on him. :D

Shergar

Benz is entered in the 3rd today at GGF. 12.5K NW2L. Only a 6 horse field. Doesn't appear to be any monsters entered.

Best thing about today is I Am not the basket case I was when he made his comeback race.
