first start of the year!!

Postby Daisy Jal Dastur » Wed Mar 10, 2010 2:08 pm

my 'newest acquisition' is running in the 9th race at gulfstream park on Saturday.... we got the 12 post and Edgar Prado is aboard... too bad I can't get an airline ticket to go and watch her run (of course, she has to race in Miami on the first day of March break!), but will be cheering on from home!

the race got washed off the turf... I think that they could have run them, considering that the next day the track was firm and fast once again... oh well, off to Keeneland now, I guess....

we're back in tomorrow in the 9th at Keeneland... we got Alex Solis on her (not too sure how I feel about that, but can't do much now....) Hubby is recovering from surgery so we're gonna watch it off the net from his hospital room! :?

Guess maybe you were right about Solis, or at least I'm assuming that trip wasn't the game plan. She had some nice kick though to make up some ground in the stretch. Hopefully she'll be closer early next time and that late move will take her to the winner's circle!

Hey Justin,

Nah, she was looking at the starters when the gates open... in the UK, they don't have the starters in the gate when they open... Alex didn't abuse her at all, and she did make up some ground in the last eighth or so.

She came out of it like a workout, so Roger is planning on running her back soon - on the 21st - this time going a 1 1/8 mile.

I might actually go this time! lol!
