Glowing from a win today and making enough money to cover the bills of the vet, feedman, blacksmith and motel for another month ......maybe; I dodged the potholes of the worst road system outside of Mongolia and shimmied up to the bar of the "Winking Lizard" for a beer and a meal . I looked up at one of the screens providing sports nourishment and lo and behold there was Red Eagle warming up at Woodbine a few minutes before he destroyed a field of ne'er do wells as even money favourite. He was an imposing creature loping around without the pony before being loaded, what a beast! At the same time I felt joy on witnessing the win and deflation at my own pitiful situation ,sitting alone watching the Eagle spread his wings. I am over it now and the Eagle is for real, you can take my word.

He may not be stakes quality but he is an imposing individual and the pickings for Ontario-breds at Woodbine are substantial, good for you! I loved the velvet voice of Dan Loiselle calling the race,he has not changed a bit since he called my very first winner long ago. Is he eligible for those lucrative sales stakes at Woodbine??

He's eligible for both the Sales stakes and all the Ontario Sired Stakes as well.

Haven't heard yet, but from the looks of the head on replay the jock hit him and he bounced sideways a bit, and then the jock stopped riding (probably thinking something was wrong).

Not too shabby! Running 4th in a $100,000 Stake ,bet that you would have laughed at that 12 months ago. What do you think?

GREAT!!! to see the Red Eagle flying again and doing so well in a big step up in class after time off from his last race...this bodes well for a really interesting 4YO season for him...and, am I correct K~2: you have his 2YO full brother still on the farm?

Thanks jellac and wilf. I am really proud of this boy.

I sold the full brother as a yearling, but he did winter at the farm with us. He's been at the track for a couple of months now. Hoping he can follow on his big brother's footsteps.
