Quick Code and Kardashian

Postby Mood Swings » Fri Aug 26, 2011 2:33 pm

My lovely mare (with the not so lovely name) has had a successful year with two of her "kids". Quick Code won a 7 furlong race today (YAY :D )
http://youtu.be/aCCn4A0CI6c

- he is now 3 - 0 - 2 from 6 starts in '11. A win has eluded Kardashian but she is 0 - 2- 1 from 4 starts in '11 as a 2 yr.old.

This is by far my most exciting year as a breeder! In this business the lows may be low but the highs lift you like nothing else :)

Thank you both! Wilf - thanks for that comment :) As everyone knows that has been in the breeding business, when things are bad they are devastating. In 2009 my partner and I lost our mare and her foal to a foaling gone wrong, later in 2009 her handsome 3 year old "Field Commission" was named Champion Sprinter :(

When Quick Code made his first lifetime start on April 22, all the sad things that have happened couldn't have been farther from my mind :D

Congratulations Ericka!

It's pretty rewarding when you foal the out yourself and they grow up to 'be somebody'.

Yeah for Breeders' Awards as well!!

I just watched the replay that you provided and what a performance! The horse has come along in leaps and bounds this year and to win on one of Woodbine's biggest days must have been a great thrill. Well done indeed!

Wow that is great his Dad is turning out to be a good Stallion,we have one of his babies,Illegal Code. She did very well for us,she will be joining the broodmare band next year, she will be bred to Judith's Wild Rush.If the foal has the same heart as it's parents we will be on to something.

Quick Code ran today at Woobine and finished third in an Allowance Optional Claiming event, 7 furlongs for a purse of $79,700. It was his second start this season, he was coming off a fourth place effort in a Starter Allowance three weeks ago 8)
