Sky Princess

Postby madelyn » Sat Jan 07, 2017 7:00 am

My lovely homebred bay filly, Sky Princess, won her debut on Thursday night in the last race at Turfway Park. I no longer own her but Most Very Fortunately am still her trainer. She is a pretty nice filly. It was her first start and I was hoping to get a piece. There was a snowstorm that day hauling in was ok though because the storm was expected and the roads had been brined. It was very cold. My friend hauled us and her filly got 3rd in the race also!! Hers got "specialed" so we even got to cool out together in the test barn. Alberto Pusac gave my first timer a WONDERFUL ride.

Congratulations! Love the 4×4 line breeding, although I do remember years ago someone on this forum didn't like Turn To linebreeding, but it works for me.

Congratulations!

(Having looked at the chart, I would have hated to be the one to call that race. With Shesellssanctuary, Shamelessly Shy, and Sittin Smittin all running, my tongue would have been tangled in knots by the end. )

He did a pretty good job and did not shlip too much :D he was a comedian too. The three horse, Directioner, was way out front and then the field caught her and she retreated. The caller said "and Directioner has started the moonwalk and thrown up the white flag."

Congrats on the first out, first win, Madelyn. Exciting!

And of course, I love the name. Was it intended as a reference to Carrie Fisher's character since the filly is a descendant of Skywalker? Nice tribute, if so. :)

So her $5K maiden win must have been no fluke as she showed her heels tonight #5 in the 5th at Turfway Park and won going away for $15K horses in a field of 8 NW2L.
