Well its a go for Coquie in the Orchid

Postby Coquinerie » Wed Mar 30, 2005 11:12 pm

After some discussion and an easy work this week its a go for my filly Coquinerie in the G2 Orchid H. at Gulfstream. In her last outing she was a fast closing head at the Orchid distance of 12f on the same turf course. So here's hoping for an even better outcome. Although to be honest, graded blacktype period would be incredible. First horse I own (in partnership or otherwise) and have exclusive breeding rights to and the G2 next to her name would be a HUGE asset!!! Wish us luck!!!

Best of luck and here's to a safe trip.

This saturday, Race7 at Gulfstream Park. Wish I could be there but i'm stuck recording in LA. Briviesca looks like the one to beat but hopefully Coquie can get up in time. If everything goes as expected, she'll be charging fast late. Gives me a heart attack every time.

So once again she proved how unpredictable she is. She runs either a huge race with an amazing turn of foot, or she runs evenly at the back of the pack with no speed. Today, unfortunately, she showed nothing. Here's hoping for better luck next out.

Maybe, I might be wrong. But there should be or suppossed to be a difference in speed between a minor stakes race and a group 2, name it
a quality difference. So it will be much more difficult showing finishing
speed in a grade (group) 2 than in a msw.
Maybe you,ll be much luckier staying in msw company, she will be benefitting from it and after some wins making the step up in class.
I will give her confidence, and thus not throwing her to the lions.
Next time out help your own luck a little bit.
