Stanley Park, a five year old horse out of my mare Tricky Bird is entered in an allowance race on the turf at Santa Anita on Wednesday (Race 5).
This is his second race back after a fifteen month lay-off. At three he was stakes placed at Del Mar and won the Bay Meadows Derby [G3] before being injured in the Hollywood Derby [G1]. Mike Smith will be riding.
Here's hoping he can return to his earlier form.

Hope he,s coming out in better shape, than coming in the race.
Although hoping that the surface is not firm. Firm can be most devastating
to bones, and joins which aren,t suited for this surface.
Fingerscrossed

Well, with a not great trip, he managed to place third.
The notes said, "STANLEY PARK swerved inward in opening strides, was straightened away and chased from the inside, angled out bit into second turn, lacked room later on that bend, regained the inside, rallied strongly from along the fence and gained third."
So hopefully that will have been a good experience he can build on.

This is really a big move, either they are stupid ( I don,t think so), or they
have completely trust and faith in the horse and his opportunities.
Keep my fingers crossed. If the mare is still in your yard, and she isn,t to old it might be benificiel for you I THINK. I hope there is a little bit give in the ground, just a tiny little bit.

LSB,
their wasn,t a hair on my head thinking they were stupid, so automatically the other opinion is left open.
But is always extremely difficult to get a horse back, to the level were he left buisiness, after a such long delay. Altough spending time, sholarship,
try outs and everything that,s required for this job. ( getting back a competitive racehorse again) on his old high level
With most regards

Won today's San Luis Obispo Handicap at Santa Anita, with gas left in the tank. Excellent time for the 1 1/2 mile.

Congrats...
