Congrats again cewright!
Springboro, don't you just hate those mix-ups? (unless of course you were hoping for a filly. )
Who will have the first PQ foal of 2010?

I am still waiting. Both mares are at the foaling farm, which offers 24 hour monitoring. At last report they were "enjoying the hospitality".

Finally! Saturday about 11:30 am we were blessed with a Sun King filly. I am trying to get some quality photos to post. One down, one to go.

Our Wimbledon colt arrived about 11:00 pm last night in the midst of a record snow storm. I am trying to figure out how to get the pictures from the phone to the PC .

2nd foal arrived this morning at 1:30 am. Small light chestnut filly with a large star. This is the Hap - Seaven Teares, by Aljabr foal. She's so small and exquisite... like a toy. She let me hold her head in my lap and slept that way for a bit. Her dam should have been a prized holstein - if anyone needs milk this mare could feed 3 foals! She's a maiden, but you should see the udder on her! At one point, I heard the scary sound of hooves scraping on the baby's blanket and worried that the mother was stepping on her. I looked over to see mom carefully pawing at her sleeping baby... apparently feeling the pressure to nurse again.
so... two fillies, neither mine at this point. I do get listed as co-breeder though. My last two... it feels so surreal. You all be sure to share your stories with me and make me proud!

OK, now I'm jealous. I keep reading all these wonderful reports and I want a foal of my own.
My first mare due is bagged up, waxing, and her belly is hanging so low it swings when she walks. Her "due date" was yesterday. I wish I knew what she was waiting for.
cewright, your Wimbledon foal is a cutie. Congratulations again, springboro!

With Valentine's Day and Hard Spun, I loved the name HARD HEARTED but I checked and it's already taken.
Jessi, we'll keep him until he's a yearling and then we'll see. Most of ours go to the sales but we almost always keep one from each crop to race. I'll let you know next year.
Hard Hearted was a great choice. Too bad about it being taken.
At least with him as a possible (and very good!) sales foal, naming him won't really be a big priority.
We have a Repent due in a few days. Lets see if the mare holds on or goes when she's suppose to. She's in Alberta, Canada of all places and they'll both be getting on a truck to Kentucky when the time is right.
