Well, it beats the alternative - premature foaling and all the related disastrous outcomes. We have had a very cool, wet spring. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Better late than never as they say.

Nope; she's the one that was due 4/28. I've slept (sort of) in the recliner the past three nights watching her on the monitor though... I don't think it will be much longer. (I hope not anyway... I'm not getting much sleep.)

She foaled last night, at 11:30... two weeks late. BRIGHT chestnut colt... very red. A real cutie.

she was always an easy foaler but never too late. She is a good mom.

Everyone has been late but they've been at least foaling in the correct order. That trend has now been broken. We had a mare foal early Monday morning (I'm late with the announcement this time) and she only went 9 days over. She was supposed to be the last mare to foal this year for us, but we are, however, STILL waiting on one mare, who was due 4/26/09! She has gone over a year. OH, WAIT... I get to post on that OTHER thread now about her!

Yikes! Does she at least look like she is going to foal soon? I hate when they not only go way over their due dates but also give you several different signs indicating that labour could be just around the corner. That is a sure-fire recipe for sleep deprivation and a case of the crazies :P Hope you will be welcoming your last foal soon :)

Well, her belly is quite large... and she's got a very full and tight udder... and she does have milk... so I'd say it's going to happen eventually...

I saw Roque's foal's last weekend. I was there to pick up my 2 mares and foals. I must say, they are all cute! Looks like Private Lap is throwing some very correct foals - looking forward to a Private Lap foal of my own next year!

Thanks, Lisann... I have to agree that they're all cuties.

Our last mare foaled very early this morning... so, we're all done foaling, finally! She went 381 days. WHEW!
