Tesio never kept more than 6-7 mares at one time. Hard to believe he accomplished what he did from such a small number, but that's what he kept at Dormello.

the comments below the article state that the condition of racing has been on the decline for over 30 years. Quite a few generations of horses, and the fact that they have said they are sending their mares abroad (to Ireland/England) to be covered at huge costs and get zero return.

I have never read a book on him. it's been on my two do list forever but life keeps getting int he way. going to have to do that. that is unreal right there.
