to think less than 100 years ago, that's not many more than 6 or 7 horse generations, the best breeder to ever look at a race horse was based here and this is the home of pretty much every bloodline we produce in america (through Ribot and Nearco), now they are all but done

Tesio never kept more than 6-7 mares at one time. Hard to believe he accomplished what he did from such a small number, but that's what he kept at Dormello.

the comments below the article state that the condition of racing has been on the decline for over 30 years. Quite a few generations of horses, and the fact that they have said they are sending their mares abroad (to Ireland/England) to be covered at huge costs and get zero return.

Hmm.. this all sounds SO familiar! Again, how much for a box stall from all points to Ky?
