Hard Spun Colt Takes UAE 2000 Guineas

Postby Patuxet » Mon Feb 16, 2015 10:56 am

Excellent stretch run by a determined colt. Hard Spun is not to be underestimated as a potential classic sire. Link to race video is included in the report.

Its rubbish comments like that annoy me and inflate the price of Danzig line stock.
Only 1 Northern Dancer line stallion Boundary sired a Derby winner, Big Brown.

Hard Spun isn't gonna do this and neither will War Front.

Another bubble burst with The Great War flopping, War Front = cheap early speed.

War Fronts stats on dirt are starting to flop he needs a stellar year this year or a reduction of about 90% in stud fee.

What does War Front have to do with this?? The OP was talking about HARD SPUN.

While I am not a champion of the Danzig line (although it is nice on the damside sometimes) I don't understand your unprovoked attack of War Front..
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Hard Spun was one of my favorites, but I did not feel he was at his best at a mile and a quarter. That said, he was in the money in the Classics against one of the best three year old crops of recent years - Street Sense, Curlin, etc., as well as being a very fine sprinter in his own right. A classy horse who has every chance of being a very good sire. A classic sire? Maybe not, but Lucky Pulpit is a classic sire.
