Kentucky Oaks

Some of the runnings of the Oaks are listed as 1 1/8 but given the times it looks like they fit with the 1 1/16 runnings instead which they ran it at for awhile. Can the 1:44ish 1 1/8 races be checked out to make sure they were that far? I was just trying to see how Rachel Alexandra's time stacked up and caught that.

The Oaks was run at 12 furlongs 1875-1890, 10 furlongs 1891-1895, at 8.5 furlongs 1896-1919, 9 furlongs 1920-1941, then back to 8.5 from 1942-1981, before being restored to 9.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that unless someone takes the time to add distance for each year, the stakes DB will default to whatever distance is entered on the main race page. So a lot of years show up as 9F when they really aren't.
