Hi Lucky Vern

Postby lyncarl » Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:30 pm

I recently rescued a throughbread and through the Jockey Club based on his lip tattoo I now know his name, sire and dam. What I really want to know is his history and I am hoping some one out there can help me. His sire is Hi Lucky Jay and dam is Shameful. He was born in Texas March 10, 1993. I spoke to the breeder wife who had no information as her husband(the breeder) had just recently passed away. This guy was half starved when I rescued him and can tell he has had a rough life. He is part of our family now I just would like to know a little bit about his history. Hopefully someone out there can help. Thank you all for your time.

Lynne

Hy Lucky Jay is on the database, as is Shameful:

The two of them had a foal in 1988 named Regrettable, which I guess would be a full sibling to yours:

I'm sure there are others here who will be able to supply more information. :)

I have added Hi Lucky Vern to the database:

While the fact that he's tattooed means he was likely at the track at least for a while, he did not race, which makes it more difficult to track his history. Your best bet may be starting with whoever you got him from, and working backwards as best you can.

Best of luck. :)

Thank for responding! The person I got him from could not afford to feed him and the person prior to that couldn't feed him either. I am at a dead end for previous owners that is why I am trying here. He was probably 900 lbs when we took custody of him, it was really sad. He is a beautiful horse with sad eyes, I think he has been passed around a lot. I am hopeful that someone recognizes his name and has some info. His breeder was John and Lavern Fralicks out of Oklahoma. Mr. Fralicks did a a lot of breeding for people, from what I understand Hi Lucky Vern was born in Texas. I spoke with Mrs.Fralicks and she doesn't remember anything, her husband did i all the breeding and training but he just recently passed away..

Maybe someone from Texas will see this post and recognize Hi Lucky Vern or Mr. & Mrs. Fralicks.

Thank you for your help.
