Any thoughts/insights on this youngsters breeding? Was told he sold for 425k as a yearling. We've just listed him for his owner and he is still a colt. TIA!

Hmmm. There's a "Navy Bird" in the 2004 APR, but he's a 2000 edition by Forest Wildcat--Polish Queen, by Polish Navy. If this is the same colt, he sold for $50K as a weanling at KeeNov, $75K as a yearling at the following year's KeeSep, and $70K as a 2yo in training at the 2002 KeeApr. His prices as a yearling and 2yo were below his sire's averages and the APR has him as having started only once by the end of his 3yo season, so one might wonder about conformation/soundness issues.
Queen Louie (this colt's 3rd dam) was a good racer and a pretty respectable broodmare, but there's not a whole lot under the first two dams although Queen Louie has some good descendants from other daughters. The overall pedigree is fair but this guy looks like an iffy proposition as a sire prospect on paper.

Thanks Mahubah, this is the colt. I was told the info by the trainer (she got it from the owner) so it seems they just didn't have the story straight. As for his soundness - he was in training w/ John Ward as a 2 y/o, bowed - sent back out under another trainer, and has recently re-bowed, thus the reason he's coming off the track. Sounds as though he was pushed pretty hard while young - ruination. I'm hoping he gets a nice new owner - at least he'll be able to enjoy some trails.
