My new mare. :)

Postby Jenny » Fri Apr 01, 2011 5:30 am

I just got her yesterday. I know she is an older girl, but we are going to try to get a foal from her. When do you see breeding like this? I haven't owned anything even close. Although one of my other mares fillies is up for a Sovereign Award tonight!! Fingers and toes crossed.

What a nice old girl. Best of luck with her! Has she had any foals recently?

LB in 2009 she had a foal. Was not bred back. She came to me last year but was dirty and could not get her cleaned up. Lets just say she had a few things against her. Now I am the owner and we will try the best we can, and pray also.

Her 09 was by Monarchos (Regal Judith). so even for an older lady she is still kicking out babies!

She was last sold in the 02 keeneland november breeding sale for 80k when in foal to Woodman.

Her 1/2 sister Dancing Shoes was sold in the 09 Kee Nov sale in foal to Unbridled's Song for 400k to Horse France.

Still a very active family and I bet you could probably get her into a lot of good books down here in KY!

Wow
Thanks Cystal
That is the plan. We have culled our mare herd and now have mostly mares to produce for the sales. I have kept one of my own race mares because I loved her as a race horse and hope she can produce some runners for us also. :D

It is a given she will be going to Judith's Wild Rush first, however would love some input into who you would breed her to next and the reasons, just trying to broaden my education.

Her family has shown sucess with crosses with Woodman, Smart Strike and I can't wait to see if anything happens with that unbridled song her sister foaled..

I would look into Dunkirk, Broken Vow, Even The Score, First Defense, Songandaprayer, Unb energy, or Rockport Harbor(A++ truenick rating).

Dancing Shoes has a foal running in the 5th race today at keeneland named Kantstopdancin. Morning line 50-1, but coming off a closing 2nd place finish at a mile, could get the job done.

Hi,

I am sure distance is a factor but you should consider throwing her under Lite the Fuse or Montbrook. Those dudes love the stuff she has
