Kipling made comeback wins in the Allowance ranks after his siring his first crop. He appears to have been a better stud than a racer.

I was just reading through an old book about thoroughbreds and found that Stymie bred 10 mares in the spring of 1949 and then was returned to training. He failed to win in 5 starts but was 2nd in the N. Y. Handicap, then was permanently retired after making 131 lifetime starts. (Wow!).

Twenty Grand was retired to stud at Greentree in 1932, but due to fertility problems returned to race as a 7yo in 1935, but only managed one win in 5 starts and was retired again. He was never able to sire a foal.
