Looking for ANY information on CORNISH SNOW by Storm Cat

Postby sb » Sat Feb 19, 2005 5:08 pm

This stallion is presently standing in Arkansas, and he is offered in the Ar auction which runs through the 28th.
I have written to the owners for some info but never got an answer. Of course, could be that they didn't get my email, so I should call. However, I would prefer an outside view as well. I don't understand why stallion owners don't give the size of their stallion.
Any info on the stallion should anybody have seen him in person or the place he is standing [very important also], I would appreciate it.
I know he has quite a decent race record for what I can afford/would consider this breeding season.

Thanks in advance
SB

I was looking up something in the Thoroughbred Times last night, when I came upon a letter to the editor from the stallion owner. He did mention some info on his horse. I'll look it up and post it tonight or tomorrow.

Cornish Snow

Postby tammysinnett » Tue Feb 22, 2005 5:53 pm

I just wanted to tell you this is by word of mouth only-----The owner of this stallion was asking to bring a mare to Illinois to have her foal in exchange for a breeding with this stallion. My friend knows this owner and tells me this stallion was 13 when he stopped racing and he was sound. I guess the owner is very nice and easy to talk with so do call---Stallion sounds nice--or he is a good salesman---good luck. Keep me posted

I remember the owner buying a lot of lower end mares at Keenland and other bigger sales and then putting them through the Thomas Sale with free breedings to Cornish Snow. From photos he is quite flashy, but not as stocky as most Storm Cat's. He ran a lot in Dubai as I recall and did run until a later age, but I don't think he was thirteen.

Here is part of the owners letter:

"... a son of Storm Cat who started 46 times, won 12 races, never started for a claiming tag, won stakes, is graded stakes-placed, is very correct, and is out of a mare by Pleasant Colony..."

He was 12-8-5 with $351,149.

Impossible. Cornish Snow is only twelve years old this year (foaled in 1993).
