Invasive Humor is making her 2015 debut in the Mt Vernon Stakes at a mile on Memorial Day. She's the morning line favorite. Here are the PPs:
http://www.brisnet.com/php/bw_pdf_viewe ... aram3=1725

Invasive Humor's top speed figure ever was in her last race when she tried and failed to steal a turf G3 at 1 1/2. She and the second betting choice put on a show to past 1 1/4 before both finished up the track. A poor result due to poor strategy that nevertheless showed that she has distance potential. Now she's back with Bruce Levine, her original trainer, good. Here's hoping for a successful 2015 debut!

Arlara, the first Invasor to race in Argentina, a winner! She made her debut on grass at 4 and finished 6th, then switched to dirt at 8.5f and won by 9 lengths.

Sorry, ARLARA won at 7f, not 8.5f - it makes the 9 length margin look even better.

If I recall at least one of Invasor's female ancestors was a winner at 4. Late development is more tolerated in Argentina it seems. If Calidoscopio is representative, horses race older, too. (Calidoscopio won the BC Marathon).

Dee Day won her second victory. She went to the front, was passed by the favorite then came on again to win the mile race by 4 3/4 lengths on a muddy, sealed track.

Street Invader finished 3d of 8 in a mile ALW at Parx. He stalked and opened a clear lead in mid-stretch but was caught in deep stretch.

Invading Humor Victory video & details

This was an excellent victory in a "sizzling" 1:32.87, a fantastic way to start the year. Even better, she bided her time while her fastest rivals destroyed themselves on the front end.

We're seeing Invasor's first and second crops, badly depleted by wear and tear, racing in stakes at 4 & 5. These horses won at 3 but didn't look like future stakes or graded stakes winners. With one exception the ones that won stakes were 4 & 5 and all the ones that ran very fast were 4 & 5: Ausus and Invading Humor came within a second of the track record in races (as did Holy Invader at 5 in a claimer and Al Faatik at 5 in a claimer). Speed, which marks a horse as a good horse, possibly suitable for the TC, appears only when an Invasor is older.

The line to breed for a fast older horse forms on the left.

Be sure not to push them too hard early. Saint Arthur won a stakes at 3 but didn't train on. Five Sixteen was 5th in the Belmont, and second in a stakes then died of a heart attack at 3. Midnight Vader was stakes placed at 2 but didn't train on at 3. Mooqtar sparkled winning his Irish debut but didn't train on...

These horses are un-American. So Invasor is off to Uruguay for 3 years. Hopefully he will be as successful in South America as his sire Candy Stripes was. Candy Stripes US sire record is eerily like Invasor's. South America is less speed crazy and horses make their debut older, although that is changing. They also race longer distances. Invasor seems to have been a champion that didn't have one outstanding characteristic. Everything came together to give him an enormous racing engine, and he had a tremendous will to win. He can only pass on half his genes and it's possible that the complementary genes are more common in South America than here. Certainly he passes on one dominant characteristic that is a big disadvantage: late development. He has a super low rate of winners of their debut.

Invasor's most compatible cross has been with Very Funny by Distorted Humor that produced the turf sisters Invading Humor and Distorted Beauty. After that she was bred to Freud and it will be interesting to see the difference. One prediction is a no-brainer: more precocious. It will be years before the rest is known. Since Invasor is off to Uruguay there may never be a third turf sister - sad.

Is he shuttling to Uruguay or will he be permanently located there?

As I recall Invasor will not shuttle for the 3 years of his contract in Uruguay at Cuatro Piedras.

Distorted Beauty is running at Belmont in the Intercontinental Stakes at 7f on turf June 6.
Here are the PPS:
http://www.brisnet.com/php/bw_pdf_viewe ... am3=930930

Her last race was a good prep because she came from further back and the Belmont turf is favoring that style plus she has Post 9. She'll face competition from horses trained by the Usual Suspects: Clement, Motion, Mott, Matz and Ward. Distorted Beauty is the 5th ML choice and choices 1-4 break next to her from Posts 10-14, they have a variety of running styles.

Kentucky Coin traveled from Kazan to Moscow for his debut as a hurdler. He was 3d in the 2400m Grand Prix Radio Monte Carlo. The race was run on what looks like dirt. The 2nd place horse knocked down part of the barrier, but it didn't bother him and nobody landed on it.

Wrood is nominated to a Listed (just below Group) Class1 2000m race at the Curragh June 7. If she runs, it will be a big jump in class for her turf debut - on yielding turf. Except for the turf issue her race record is comparable to the others - wait, not really, there are severel Group placed and a G1 winner at 2.

Her previous trainer (Fanshawe) never ran her on turf at 2 or 3 so he can't have thought she liked the lawn. She's a closer, not a rabbit type, and in any case her new trainer hasn't nominated any of his other horses. She'll show a new dimension or it will it be her worst race.

Invasor is in Uruguay at Cuatro Piedras already to prepare for the Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

They immediately put up a video of his daughter Arlara winning by 9 lengths in Argentina

Distorted Beauty finished 3d of 13 in the Intercontinental Stakes - she had traffic problems. She broke 8th (I wonder why) and bided her time in 10th through the 1/2, which was run at a slow pace, then was stuck behind a wall of horses into the stretch, finally went 6 wide for racing room and "closed well thereafter to take the show". The winner pressed the pace and the second place horse, who was also stuck in traffic, was released when the winner moved to the rail leaving the 2p open for her stablemate. The pace was slow for a 7f race, which didn't help Distorted Beauty at all - it also probably is why there was a "wall of horses". IMHO her jockey rode Distorted Beauty as if it was a 1 1/8 mile race where her endurance might be in question or he didn't realize the pace was slow or something went wrong at the break and he coaxed her along.
