Invasor's first offspring to race in Argentina made her debut in a 1200m turf sprint in the Hipodromo de Palermo. Arlara is 4 years old and finished 6th of 15, beaten about 4 1/2 lengths. I suppose she's been in Argentina all along, because she's a US horse that didn't race here - technically she would be younger that the rest due to Southern Hemisphere breeding schedule. The only other debutante in the race finished toward the rear. Good luck, Arlara!

Street Invader returned to the winner's circle for his 4th victory in his first race for new connections. All his victories have been as a front funner - last time he was used to get the lead from PP 9, this time he had PP 2 and won by 3 1/4. Needing the lead is a risky strategy: he is 17,4,0,1.

Another front runner got a win - just like Street Invader last time Aniar finished up the track last time after drawing wide but got PP 2 and won this 15K CLM at Fair Grounds. He was 1st out of the gate and 1st at every call as the 1.00 favorite.

Another resemblance to Street Invader is his record 10,2,0,2. Get out in front or bust! I don't know if he hates dirt in his face or just needs an easy lead to avoid running out of gas but it's a good bet that he won't be asked to run differently.

Expression is running in The Corrections Stakes at Aqueduct on Saturday March 14. No big surprise, she had a very fast work last time. Looking at the PPs she is getting a lot more respect after running 3d in a G2. This time she is in the top 3 in every category and 1st in 2 of them, including Speed last Race.

Expression started coming into her own late in her 5th year. Other Invasors who started well have raced a lot more and had physical issues. Photon has ankle problems and after being vanned off he had one work, that's all. Holy Invader, who almost stole a turf 1 1/2 mile race against stakes winners also had issues and will be in a 10K claimer on the same card at a mile. Invasors are better older - if they aren't used up. Charlton Baker, Expression's trainer, will, I hope, get the reward he earned by how he brought her along.

Expression finished 2nd by a head in the Corrections Stakes on a sloppy, sealed track. She closed faster than the winner but from further back (1 1/2 lengths behind the winner at 1/2) to just miss by a head. If only it had been a 6.5f or 7f race instead of 6f ... The winner was Shadwell's sprinter Mamdooha, who is now 6,5,1,0 (4 of those wins are stakes). Expression is still improving!

Here's the article & video of the Corrections Stake in the fog - as the announcer said "Somewhere out there a horse race is happening". You can see Expression veer behind Mamdooha to get running room 6w. Expression ran a longer race by more than a neck - but that's horse racing, next time Expression gets a break.

Succesful Brothers is entered in the More to Tell Stakes at Aqueduct on Mar 21 - It's part of Aqueduct's Inaugural Claiming Championships
Succesful Brothers is a closer, Aqueduct favors early speed and 1 1/16 is still a distance where speed holds. He is a long shot. Here are the PPS:

Succesful Brothers Stakes Placed! He finished 3d in the 1 1/16 More to Tell stakes at Aqueduct. After spending most of the race in the back he was asked halfway around the second turn, and went 4 wide, then 6 wide to take 3d. He was 3 1/2 lengths ahead of the rest of the field but the two in front weren't coming back to him. Succesful Brothers is a grinder, where he's placed and when he's asked really matter. This choice would have worked better in a longer race.

Peron finished 2nd in a 7f MCL. She set a good pace but the 1.80 favorite aced the race by 4 1/2.

PARTY! Envahir won a MSW at 1 1/16 on synthetic.
She broke last after bobbling the start and trailed the field. She was 10 1/4 lengths from the front at 1/2 then rallied 3 wide to win by a length.
http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pd ... 15USA3.pdf

She is 6,1,4,0 and was 4th in her other race. She kept getting closer as the distance went from 5 1/2 to 1 1/16. She was 2nd at a mile on turf after uncharacteristically pressing the pace instead of closing, so turf is a possibility.

Succesful Brothers ran in an $82K 1 1/8 Allowance at Aqueduct on Wood Memorial Day. There was no speed duel early (too bad!) and the half was run in a reasonable 49. Successful Brothers was well placed a couple of lengths back in 3d although 3 wide both turns. Then the leader took off and was never in danger of being caught. It was a 3 horse photo for 2nd. Succesful Brothers missed by a nose, settling for 3d place. He ran well.
Here's the video:

Here's the chart. Look at the betting odds - Succesful Brothers seems to be on the improve, this race was tougher than the stakes he was 3d in last time.

Street Invader finished 2nd of 8 in a 1 1/16 allowance at Parx. He set the pace but was passed by the winner while finishing 8 lengths ahead of the 1.00 favorite and the rest of the field.

Twenty In One is entered in the Doubledogdare Stakes G3 at Keeneland at 1 1/16 on Friday.
There are 3 Graded Stakes Winners in the race, My Miss Sophie was 2nd in the Kentucky Oaks G1 and won the Gazelle G3 last year, Deceptive Vision won a G3 and was G1 placed on turf, won both her dirt starts, and Tiz Windy won the Indiana Oaks G2 last year. On paper Twenty In One is a Hail Mary Pass and in the PPs she takes a beating for low speed figures and for her last race, where she had traffic problems and was steadied after a dominant win breaking her maiden. She's just at the age when Invasors start getting good and maybe her trainer sees something that isn't captured by the numbers, although Ausus' trainer and Invasive Humor's trainer were both surprised. Most US horses peak early. I think the race is short for her - it's not uncommon for speed horses to stay 1 1/16. I'm hoping for a speed duel.....

Twenty in One made her stakes debut in the Doubledog Dare G3 - and it looks like she was there as a rabbit for her trainer's other, more highly regarded, entry. Twenty in One, never a front runner, was gunned to the lead to set the pace for the fastest field of horses she ever faced. The PPs noted that her best speed was well below the winning speed for the race. After setting the pace she gave way at 3/16 and finished 6th, next to last and up the track. Her trainer's other horse finished 4th, a length from the front. I'm disgusted enough to be glad it didn't place.

Twenty in One has a good record and is getting to the age when she could break through. She has a flexible racing style, she has run as a closer and stalked. She deserved better than this.

Spanish Invader stalked and surged late for his 4th victory at a mile. He likes the bullring at Mountaineer and likes mud - got both this time.
