hi scqhgal

You ask "What are your thoughts on Gimmeawink as an alternative to Omega Code?"

If your goal is to select a reasonably-priced stakes-winning son of Elusive Quality to breed to (in Florida)...and Omega Code is not the one for you (for whatever reason(s)...Gimmeawink may fit your bill.

But before you 'sign-up' you might consider this...aside from the fact that both Omega Code and Gimmeawink are by the very respected (by many) young sire Elusive Quality...there seems to be little more that they may have in common.

Gimmeawink only raced successfully at what might be considered or referred to (respectfully) as second-level tracks (Phila Park...Mountaineer...Laurel...Delaware etc etc etc) and he never won a graded race.

Gimmeawink never really showed brilliant speed in 6 furlong races (1:11 and change and even 1:12...was more his style)...but to his credit he did win a couple of races going a mile and a sixteenth and 1 mile and 70 (at tracks like Phila Park...Del...and Laurel).

Furthermore...Gimmeawink NEVER succeeded on the biggest stage in the northeast...New York. hmmm

His female family and "page" seem to be short on (or maybe even missing) some important ingredients...not the least of which is that Gimmeawink's dam's sire (T.V. Commercial) conjurs very little to write-home or dream about when considering broodmare sires of successful (or potentially successful) sires.

But who knows...Gimmeawink could be a good one. Certainly his sire Elusive Quality is highly regarded by many and has proven to be a source of some top-class runners. Maybe EQ's son Gimmeawink has taken on the best qualities that EQ has to offer...and he may succeed (at least to some extent) in his new career.

On the other hand Omega Code was a brilliant fast race horse...winning a stake in 1:07 3/5 (ntr) as a 2-year-old (arguably an incredible feat)...and winning the G3 San Miguel (at Santa Anita at age three) in 1:08 3/5. Omega Code could "fly"...WOW.

His dam is by Deputy Minister...his 2nd dam is nearly a $900k earner and multiple graded stakes-winner and new-track-record setter by Exceller...his third dam is by Damascus...and his fourth dam is by Bold Ruler...and he's from a "Phipps" family.

I suggest that Omega Code brings a lot to the table...and has much more exciting credentials (right now) than Gimmeawink...especially if brilliance...family...and winning performance on the big-stage (at least once) are important to you in the evaluation process.

Gimmeawink may be a good one...but Omega Code seems to be holding the strongest hand...at least for openers.

Best to you.

Respectfully

hi guys...

Assuming he can (or could) still handle it...

...do you expect that Storm Cat will (or would) attract 100 mares whose owners would be willing to PAY the FULL 2005 Advertised Stud Fee of $500,000 (without receiving the benefit of any discounts, commissions, "deals", special considerations, and/or terms & conditions etc etc etc that are more advantageous than advertised in the stallion directory) ?
