I still remember the stallion Solo Native, he was a sweetheart and he gave his temperament to his offspring. He did a great job with difficult mares.

What do you get when you cross a Halo line stallion with Lassie?

A horse that will bite your arm off and then run for help.

Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.

French Seventyfive had a very good disposition. Our 4-year-old filly by him apparently inherited it--and having a dam and grand-dam with similar dispositions just made it all the better. One of the quietest youngsters I've ever worked with, but admittedly I'm a little biased...!

Tiznow is quite a "people horse" and pretty smart too. The late Bertrando was also quite a gentleman according to the stallion manager at River Edge.
"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher...You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse." C. S. Lewis

Affirmed was supposed to be quite the gentleman. He was so mellow,
he napped in his stall right before the Belmont. After he retired, some
wise-acre yelled "Here Alydar, Here Alydar" as Affirmed stood in
his pasture, noting that Affirmed would respond by coming up to him
at the fenceline. He said it meant Affirmed was dumb, because he
didn't know his name wasn't Alydar. I think Affirmed was just too
polite to correct the smart aleck.

Malibu Moon / I guess AP Indy horses that I have run into have tended to be pretty alpha and while not mean, had their own strong ideas about who was in charge.

I believe ,after buying, retraining and placing, hundred of TB's that most of temperament and attitude comes from the way we handle the horses. I took horses from many trainers and farms and some of them you knew whatever the horse lines he would be nice while others....lets just say you knew you were in for a lot of work...
The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget...
