Looking for outcross stallion Lexington KY Area

Postby GoForRags » Wed May 27, 2015 9:00 am

Hi everyone-

I am looking for a stallion in the Lexington KY area to breed to who has NO lines to Mr. Prospector, Northern Dancer or Storm Cat.
Don't care about heavy blacktype on the page, like to see a decent pedigree and nice conformation.
He can be a teaser at a stud farm or a stud standing privately somewhere- I'd prefer a free breeding.
If you know of a stallion that fits this criteria, please let me know?
Thanks! :D

Believe It Doctor, by Believe It - Dr. Feel Great, by Dr. Fager.

I've never seen the stallion, but the price and bloodline match your request

Hat Trick
Stephen Got Even
Musketier
Orientate

Probably a few more but those immediately come to mind.
A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.

I spoke to the owners of Believe it Doctor and he is still alive, however they've decided this morning that they would rather not breed him any longer due to his age.
I'm considering Aspen Ridge (although there is a line to ND), which is by far the lesser of three evils in this mare's pedigree.
Steven got Even has had some fertility problems and with it being so late in the season, I really did not want to have to take her to the shed for more than one trip....
Musketier is at Calumet, Alphabet Soup is a beautiful cross over at Adena... but again here I'm looking at 3k or so....
A friend of mine owns Imperial Justice, which is another option.
I was very excited to run across Believe it Doctor, looking at his pedigree makes it hard to be excited about the other options :-(

Oh, sorry thought I had said-
a runner. Mare's name is Seeking Money. Not much of a page- BT in second dam. But she is a winner and did have talent, unfortunately broke a sesamoid back when.
I have a gorgeous Hey Poquita filly out of her (this year's foal).
The reason why I don't really want to spend much on a stud fee is that she just isn't commercial and foal wouldn't be a sales candidate no matter by what stallion. She is so heavily linebred that if I add anymore MrP, or SC, I'll have a 3 headed foal. Mare is a very typically built Seeking the Gold type.
Frustrating.

Stroll for $5,000 or Birdstone is free for mares with black type under their first 2 dams, have a look at Birdstones success with mares loaded with Mr P and Northern Dancer.

Birdstone is no longer accepting comps for a while now- plus she doesn't have graded BT anyway, so wouldn't have been eligible.
I'm leaning to Alphabet Soup. Possible this is his last year at stud. Breed and hope for a filly LOL

Getting completely away from Mr. P/RAN/Native Dancer, Northern Dancer and Storm Cat you might take a look at Blue Eyed Streaker. A rare tri-color,blue eyed paint. His sire was a runner. HE is being bred more towards producing dressage/show athletes...but with the possibility of colorful genetics.

Aside from his colorful markings physically he is a good looking, nice moving horse.

This stallion - offers the potential for getting a colorful foal - that might also be a runner - since moving from Texas to this Kentucky farm he has produced his first race winner this year and I think it was a filly that won at first asking....reported in the 'Color' portion of this Board's index. IF your mare happens to be a chestnut or carries sabino color traits there might be some mutual interest there.

Oops! My bad - I got ahead of myself and ahead of his offsrping's accomplishments to date - Here is a copy of the post from "Color Corner"
Koda Chrome, a 3-year-old frame overo colt (Blue Eyed Streaker X A Beauty Black), recently finished third in his debut at Belterra. Congrats to owner/breeder Echo Hill Farm!
