Bird is the Word just missed placing going a mile in the Pasadena Stakes. Should have a nice career on the turf.

The winner of that race looks like he is a good one.

Bird is the Word second in the Singletary Stake at SA. I think the jock did not see the horse coming up from the outside or he might have won.

Being a Birdstone fan, I noticed that Birdie Gold (Birdstone) won the 2017 G1 Gran Premio Clasico Pamplona to earn an automatic berth into the $2-million GI Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf. http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/birdie-earns-bc-berth-in-pamplona/

Don't know what she is running against down there but she won by open lengths.

Bird Is The Word should have won his last, a one mile Santa Anita turf ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING. Gary Stevens on # 1 showed Bird's "hot apprentice", Evin Roman, how it's done. The Kid on Bird ends up going early, going late, and going scenic the whole way, meanwhile Gary rode the winner perfectly, euro-style. Trakus noted Bird traveled 45 feet more!

UPDATE: Bird Is the Word is entered in Del Mar's Oceanside S on Wednesday, July 19th, 2017. Gary Stevens rides.

It was just a cheap claiming race but Miss Birdie (Birdstone) won gate to wire last night by a huge margin.

Bird is the Word looked great winning an allowance at Del Mar yesterday. Doesn't look like a big colt but well trained and well ridden.

Not too shabby indeed. The older winner was on a 4-race winning streak, his last a graded score and likely will race next in the BC Mile. Bird's tentative schedule is the Twilight (Gr2) and, if all goes well, the Hollywood Derby (Gr1).

This was from the first of the year but I thought it was a good article.

He really is such an under rated sire from a breed to race standpoint.

Noticed Birdstone has a gelding running in a hurdle stakes today (Osmoz Race 3, Percy Warner). Not something you see here in the states every day. Best of luck to him.

Osmoz did not do much in this race but the purses for his last two hurdle races were $100,000 and $125,000. Not too shabby for an alternative career.
