Great Day For Tapit

Postby Shawklit Won » Sat Jun 11, 2016 4:23 pm

Lets see. First Frosted (by Tapit) wins the Met Mile today, with Anchor Down (by Tapit) finishing second. Then to put some frosting (no pun intended) on the cake, Creator wins the Belmont Stakes. Creator is also by Tapit.

Just hope Tapit's stud fee doesn't go up any more (but it would not surprise me if it does).

Anyway, what a day for Tapit.

And Lani was third on the Belmont Stakes. All together Tapit's runners today made close to $2 million.

Yet, I have a feeling that there will be more days like this for Tapit.

This photo says it all, to me... whodathunk we'd ever have a greyfecta finish in any race? Grey is the new bay... :D
(yes, I know that Destin is by Giant's Causeway... but it is remarkable!)

I've heard (don't know if it is true) that horses with the same coat color tend to stand together in a common pasture. Supposedly, horses with different coat colors smell differently (not that I can tell!). Maybe this is just an old wives tale, but it is cool to think that these guys just decided to hang out together on Belmont day. That fact that the first three finishers were all gray is way cool! 8)

Jorge would have been ecstatic over this! He loved his grays!

Not so bad today either. Whitney Stakes (G1 $1,250,000) for Frosted and West Virginia Derby (G2 $750,000) for Cupid. Cupid is also a son of Tapit.

Tapit has a 300K stud fee, but it looks like he is worth it.
