NM Bred Rule Change Allows Mares to Leave the State

(Admins, I couldn't find a thread that fit this topic, so feel free to move it elsewhere.)

This rule change may make the NM bred program more workable for breeders in other states.

At the January New Mexico Horse Breeders Association, the general membership approved a change to the by-laws that applies to both Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses, allowing breeders who have bred to a qualifying NM bred stallion to remove their mares from the state between breeding and foaling, however a $500 fee would apply that would be due September 1 of the year bred.
