stuborn gelding trainers advice needed

So glad to hear he is doing so much better. Good Luck!! Sometimes, a mental break does a world of good. What did you do with him while he was home? Just turned him out or some structured work??

He was just turned out, it took about 3 weeks and he was bored of doing nothing,then he went to new trainers and we took 1 week off getting use to his new surroundings, horses, and trainer etc. then started to work .. he started to react the same by slamming on brakes and lowering his head but the diffrence was the new trainer just did not make a BIG issue of it by beating him with the whip to try to get him going again, they just regained his attention and kept him doing what he was comfortable with then he started learning again..( He thinks its his idea then) now he is learning willingly .. we will send him to a track next week to start getting him use to track enviroment as a pony, so he gets exersize and can take it all in, then we should be able to teach him more.. keep your fingers crossed he keeps progressing foward...so far so good...

That is usually how it works. They get bored and then they are ready to go again. Great news.
