Postby francesca » Tue Mar 29, 2005 9:04 am

Hi, One of my mares got clipped above the eye and I am wondereing what I can do to wound to care for it. It has been raining here and I don't want anything to run into her eye. Thoughts? Thanks.

provided it is clean, Corona ointment is pretty good stuff and easy to keep in place...

How about using some Neosporin Opthalmic ointment? That way, if it does run into her eye, it won't matter. That's what I usually do with cuts near an eye.

I don't know if they sell it over the counter. You may have to get it from a vet. But a small tube doesn't cost very much.
