Your question is rather open.

What is "successful"? Which "strike rate" in which metier is necessary to be esteemed as "successful"? Is "successful" to give advice / prognosis after the event has taken place?

Which tools / methods does a successful analyst use? Can only he himself use these tools / methods? Why no one else?

I am interested in the methods/philosophy and the results thereof...

Has there ever been a "pedigree analyst", who ascribed heritable traits to ancestors and could describe lines of heridity of these traits?

Just listing and counting names is a fool's game - but in pedigrees people see what they want to see, whether it is there or not.

Did they mean "Analysts"?
If so, I know of a few I can recommend.

Well, Jorge has been tracking both gray and sabino lines. Is this the kind of thing you want to know?

My first recommendation is Les Brinsfield. He has quite the successful resume. He writes for The Blood Horse and has articles up on pedigree post. There are many pedigree analysts who wrote for pedigree post that you might also want to check out.
